The Financial Plan

It is essential for our clients to have a financial plan that you can update over time and ensure you are tracking toward your financial goals.

Equally important, the financial plan is the framework for us as your advisor which we use to make ongoing investment recommendations tailored to you. It helps answer the questions “how much should I have in stocks?… or bonds?” and “which investments go in this type or that type of account?” The financial plan also helps us identify tax planning opportunities over time.

A comprehensive financial plan is the most effective tool in determining clients optimal investment allocations. The planning approach helps clients stick with their strategy for the long haul and continue to be successful, long-term investors.

What our financial plan is not for; selling you financial *products we think are unnecessary.

Investment Philosophy

Markets are highly efficient most of the time. Attempting to beat the market is highly unlikely and attempting to can be very costly. We construct and manage diversified portfolios for clients that typically includes a combination of stocks, bonds, real estate, and alternatives.

There is a virtually unlimited variety of investment choices now available to most investors. Our job is to help you sift through all that is available and construct a portfolio that aligns with your goals and risk appetite.

For the stock component our investment strategies focus primarily on utilizing low-cost, index-based ETFs (exchange-traded funds). Direct indexing is also a potential solution for certain client circumstances.

The bond portion will typically consist of a mix of individual bonds—primarily Treasuries, CDs, and/or bond funds. It will be determined during the financial planning process how much should be invested in bonds and whether common strategies like a bond ladder or barbell strategy is recommended.
